The only word of caution is that, the heat from boiling water (150F or above) will diminish the strength of the magnets, so its best to detach them before cleaning your jewelry in ultrasonic cleaners. Regarding GOLD-FILLED, its made with thin sheet of real gold bonded to another metal (mostly Brass) and its much, much better than plating and it should last for years, but its not permanent as solid gold and will eventually wear out..
