This Milton Douglas Lamp Co. 5.5” 2-Piece Brass Plated Finish Detachable Harp provides an ideal solution for replacing a worn or broken lamp harp or for creating a new custom lamp. The brass plated finish complements a wide variety of light fixtures. This 2-piece harp is designed for ease of installation and features a threaded top that makes it suitable for attaching a decorative finial (not included). Harp Fitting Guide: The first place to start is looking at the top of the original harp under the finial. There you will find the size of your current harp. If you have changed the size of your shade you will need a different size harp. The shade size should give you the overall height of the shade and the fitter recess of the shade. The basic formula for finding the correct harp size is as follows: Overall Height – Fitter Recess – ½ Inch = Harp Size. You will know that you have the perfect harp height when you look across the bottom of the shade and the socket is almost visible. If your harp is too tall, you will see the socket. If the harp is too short, you will have to reach up too far to turn on the light.
