The Gidgit Cabinet Hinge Repair Kit is designed to repair the interiors of cabinets commonly found in Kitchens, Bathrooms, Living Rooms, Dining Rooms, Offices, Garages and even Boats. This kit allows you to repair a damaged, existing, cabinet carcass enabling the re-use of your existing concealed hinge and door saving you great frustration and considerable expense. It can be used by homeowners, the construction industry, social housing contractors, salvage companies, kitchen manufacturers and refurbisher to mention just a few. When considering the cost of replacement of a door and cabinet carcass V’s repair, remember... it is not just the cost of the parts… it is also the labour. Search around the internet and you'll typically find a solution that has been around for years. The "Metal Plate" which has been used to make repairs to Cabinets without consideration for the change in hinge dimensions, location in the carcass or, the different qualities of MDF, Chip/Particleboard used by different manufacturers. Other solutions, are supplied with the cheapest Wood Screws to fix the plate and the hinge on to the cabinet carcass. However… Wood Screws are tapered and have an aggressive thread that rips into the carcass causing further damage on installation. Most cabinet manufacturers now use Concealed Hinges as a better engineered solution with Cabinet Screws. We supply our own design of Cabinet Screws to make a better mechanical bond between the carcass, our bracket and hinge during repair.
