Installing the batteries improperly is the most common reason for low airflow from FiAir. Always INSTALL BATTERIES IN PROPER ORIENTATION as shown in the bottom of the battery tray. For best and longest performance we recommend Single-Use Alkaline Batteries (i.e. Energizer, Duracell) Using Rechargeable Batteries (or under-powered batteries) is another reason for poor air flow. Rechargeables are a trade-off of power for rechargeability. So they start off weaker and don't last nearly as long per charge as single use batteries. FiAir's motor is doing a lot of work to get so much power from such a small device and definitely makes demands on the batteries. If you're buying the cheapest Alkalines or searching for a set in the junk drawer, both you and FiAir will benefit from high quality Alkalines. FiAir will work with Rechargeables Rechargeable may be a good choice for Wood Burning Fireplaces, Wood Stoves and Fire Pits. But for charcoal or remote camping, we recommend single use Alkalines like Energizer or Duracell. Many users have told us they have good success with Rechargeables. If they work well for your uses, great. If not, please try Single Use Alkaline Batteries.
