About this product
The green top of the oat plant, harvested when the seed is at the milky stage, before it's fully ripe. The herb is nutritive and soothing to itchy, flaky skin and is used in baths, lotions and skin washes. It also makes a comforting herbal tea. Botanical Name: Avenal sativa L. Directions: To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately. Product Notes: Our flowering green oat straw includes both the immature grain and stalk portion of the plant. It has a faint, fresh, green aroma and an herbaceous flavor free of any musty notes.
