Rug pad is always recommended for any rug whether old or new but not all rug pads are created equal. Plush hold rubber backed felt is made with a natural rubber backing and a needle punched heat pressed felt side to be a breathable as well as a dense supportive surface to protect the rug as well as the floor. Made in the USA with the highest quality materials to make a quality product safe for your home. Non skid backing stops your rug from slipping and the heat pressed felt keeps the rug from falling off the pad. Plush hold is approximately 1/4" thick to add a nice cushioning underfoot as well as a provide a protective a barrier between the rug's backing and the hard flooring surface. Safe for all flooring surfaces as long as all manufacturer's Recommendations are followed. Pad is easily trimmed with house hold scissors for unique sizing. Rug pad is hand wash only with mild detergent and a damp wash cloth.
