About this product
These Holdfasts are hand forged out of 5/8" bar for use in 3/4" holes. I am always willing to help if I’m given the information needed to do so. These are the most economic holdfasts (now reflect inflation and amazons ridiculous fees) I make. Hand forged yes really hand forged! Heated in a forge then the foot is drawn out the curve is turned around a mandrel then the foot is ground smooth. It’s a lot of work for a couple bucks. They are made FROM 5/8" steel bar. They are FOR 3/4" dog holes. Benches over 3" thick may need counter boring. These were originally intended to be an alternative to the cheap Chinese. Unfortunately Amazon would rather promote Chinese cast iron products over hand made US making selling these cheaper or faster quite difficult.
