This is a great feeder. Designed to fit inside a medium (or deep) super, it allows many bees to feed easily. You can actually fit 2 of these feeders inside a 10 frame box. The directions direct the user to start with the V groove facing the lowest part of the hive to mitigate the overflow, and the rotate it once the trough is filled to bring the level below the edge. The valve allows the syrup to flow until the level of syrup stops the air flow into the tank. If your hive is very unlevel, simply place a few pebbles underneath the base to level. The HIVE-TOP Feeder version does rely on a vacuum and if you squeeze the full tank slightly you can get a little syrup to come out of the nipple before turning over to allow air to be sucked in to create the vacuum and eliminate any drips.
