Sancho & Lola's Closet was founded because we believed every dog deserves a forever home. But we also believe every dog deserves treats and chews that enable them to thrive, not cause inflammation. "Let food be thy medicine". Most commercial chews and treats are filled with cheap GMO grains like corn and wheat, artificial colors and preservatives. Our goal is to offer single-ingredient chews that will have your dog prancing like a puppy into old age. Sancho is 10 years old. In 2016, he had to go through a serious knee surgery (called TPLO), chicken feet, duck feet, beef trachea and lamb trachea are a MUST in our home! They are safe to feed every day, and a heck of a lot more fun for your pup to than man-made glucosamine and chondroitin pills. However, they are greasy. These may not be for folks who worry about carpets. We have carpet, but we store these in our freezer. This hardens the grease on the outside and makes them less messy. By the time the grease starts to defrost, the trachea is already in the stomach! We often stuff the middles with plain yogurt and/or pumpkin puree for a yummy trachea parfait they enjoy on our porch! SAFETY PRECAUTION: As with any treat or chew, we recommend you supervise your pet while feeding. Do not give your dog any small hard treat or chew pieces if he has the tendency to swallow treats rather than chew on them. For dogs that have this tendency to swallow AND for puppies, we recommend starting with a 6" or 12" and removing the treat when it gets down to 1-2 inches.
