Compare your strip to the color chart on your pack and determine if you have a UTI. These strips test for Leukocytes and Nitrite. After dipping the strip and waiting the allotted number of seconds, a purple color on the Leukocyte(white cell) pad indicates a positive UTI result. A positive nitrite indicates presence of high amounts of bacteria. The nitrite result may not always be positive in a UTI.
