The Xuron 170-II flush cutter, for shear cutting soft wire, is alloy steel, and has a return spring and nonslip hand grips. It cuts soft wire up to 20 American wire gauge (AWG) (0.8 mm). The alloy steel flush cutter has Rockwell hardness 54-56C for strength, and a return spring that requires minimal hand movement. It is compact, for access into small areas, and has nonslip hand grips for comfort and control. The Xuron 170-II flush cutter can be used to trim wire in precision electronics work and plastic degating. Dimensions are 5 x 1.85 x .50 inches (H x W x D), and the flush cutter weighs 2.05 oz. (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) Flush cutters are wire cutters that are ground to the apex of the cutting edge on one jaw side, allowing an even cut.
